JPO’s Fees Increase as of April 1, 2022

The Cabinet Decision on the enforcement date, April 1, 2022, of the Act for Partial Revision of the Patent Act and etc. was approved in September 2021. We recently obtained information from the JPO that the government ordinance (including revisions to the JPO’s patent annuity, trademark registration, and trademark renewal fees), will be promulgated around the end of this year.

The revised fees that the JPO has set for the Act are as shown below. Once the government ordinance has been promulgated, we will update formally approved fees.
