Mr. Ito has spent more than 35 years in the intellectual property department of Toyota Industries Corporation, deftly addressing obtaining domestic and international patent rights, including litigation and licensing, and becoming a key figure in corporate intellectual property strategies and management operations at Toyota Industries.

At Toyota Industries, he was the division president of a Toyota’s IP affiliated company (2008-2010), the general manager of the patent promotion office (2011-2015), and eventually becoming the general manager of the intellectual property department (2016-2023). He also served as the representative of the New York Office of Toyota Industries and worked at a law firm in New York for two years (2000-2002). He passed the US patent examination during that time (2001).

Mr. Ito has also held many important posts in various administrative and industrial organizations, including President of the Japan Intellectual Property Association.
