In order to improve the provision of information worldwide, the JPO has started to provide English translations (human translation) of appeal decisions, invalidation procedure decisions, and advisory opinions as of January 12, 2016.

Now 40 English translations are available. The JPO is planning to further provide another approximately 40 English translations of decisions by the end of March, 2016, 100 English translations of decisions by the end of March, 2017, and thereafter 100 English translations of decisions each year. The total number of issued decisions in the year of 2014 (2014.4-2015.3) was approximately 13,000.
