The Patent Search Competition organized by the Industrial Property Cooperation Center (IPCC) was held on October 26,
2013 in Tokyo and Osaka. Participants competed in patent invalidation and validity searches to find prior art references that could be used to invalidate a selected patent. The advanced course is targeted at professional patent searchers and is a competitive course. Only participants who got excellent results received Gold certificates of accreditation. Six among 175 participants of the advanced course received the Gold certificates of accreditation. Our searcher, Mr. Yuchiro Nakayama, was certified as a Gold accreditation participant. Mr. Yoshinari Shindo received a Bronze certificate of accreditation.
